Game Recap:

I am just about ready to recognize the clean and utter domination that this Royals team is displaying.  They look every part like a playoff team, early on, and are getting all of the key hits.  Towards the end of the 2023, the youth of this Royals team began to take some form.  Displaying the building blocks to create a formidable adversary for the rest of the league.  What is driving me to say all of this so soon? Well, when Bobby Witt Jr. goes 0-3 and you out slug a cemented Orioles team, it’s impossible to ignore.  This game wasn’t all sparks though, the first five innings were very slow, either team could have taken the cake.  A solo shot by Vinny Pasquantino was the only separation between the two sides.  All of that changed in the bottom of the sixth when the young Royals started getting on base and getting home.  Key RBI singles by MJ Melendez and Michael Massey were capped off with a crunching double by Hunter Renfroe to drive in two additional runs.  The top of the seventh rounded and we had a 6-0 Royals lead with zero mind of an Orioles comeback.  Once Adley Rustchman stepped to the plate with bases loaded, it felt as if the momentum began to shift, then he deposited the ball in left center, ball game back on.  Well, it was a ball game for about 15 minutes.  In the bottom of the seventh, MJ Melendez decided to put an exclamation point on the game and hit a three run shot to bury the Orioles.  The Royals are now 13-7 and in a heated competition with the Guardians, in the AL Central.  On a negative note, the Orioles bullpen has been poor, it is something to watch through the first half of the year.  Now for a positive, we have hatched a new three game GOTD win streak and are looking to get back to glory.

4-20-2024 GOTD Preview:

Texas Rangers @ Houston Astros 7:20 PM E.T.

Another massive early season series between the two most recent world series champions.  The Braves took game one at home 8-3 to continue an impressive stretch against the league’s top talents.  Scorching starts for Marcel Ozuna and Orlando Arcia have propelled this team to a league leading five game win streak.  Tonight’s rematch features a bit of a different feel.  The Ranger’s have not had an electrifying start to 2024, struggling with the Oakland A’s last week left some question marks.  Talent is of zero concern, early injuries have made an impact with Josh Jung going down, but still plenty to supplement the offense.  Both teams have eyes on the big trophy, and deservedly so.  I will have my eyes locked in on this one tonight and would tell anyone to follow suit.  Currently on a solid three game heater with GOTD, I am predicting the reigning champs to buckle down and make some noise on the road.  Nathan Eovaldi is on the mound for Texas and is off to a solid start.  I expect the Rangers to clamp down and get a decisive win in Atlanta.  Let’s go for six!
