Game Recap:

Well, coming in we knew how strong the Mariners pitching and bullpen is and they proved it last night.  The Reds had some serious chances to tie or take the lead down the stretch but came up short each time.  The Mariners led off the scoring with a Clase double that drove in a run in the bottom of the fourth.  Soon after, Stuart Fairchild tied the game up on a ground out.  In just about every facet of the game the Mariners won last night.  Logan Gilbert pitched effectively into the sixth inning giving the bullpen a great head start.  Hunter Greene was also effective but was not efficient as he accumulated a high pitch count and could only make it through four.  Not a lot to report on for this game, most of the highlights will be pitching related, I would imagine.  No home runs, the Mariners re took the lead on a bases loaded walk so not very climatic.  We are now on a two game GOTD skid, but that only sets us up for a successful day.  Time to move forward!

Chicago Cubs @ Arizona Diamondbacks 3:40 PM E.T.

If you were fortunate enough to catch the game last night, these two teams went bonkers.  The Diamondbacks prevailed, in a 12-11 shootout for the ages.  Both offenses were firing on all cylinders and I am hoping for more of the same today.  I am not sure if 26 combined hits is doable again, but after last night I can’t be certain.  Both teams emptied their respective bullpens last night which also adds to the aura of this one.  Jordan Wicks takes the mound for the Cubs and Brandon Pfaadt for the Diamondbacks, these guys are expected to eat up innings.  Michael Bush for the Cubs is on an incredible run at the plate and is riding a five game home run streak, let’s see if that continues.  Offense is the strength for both sides, excited to see who wins the battle at the plate.  For this game I am siding with the Cubs to come back with vengeance and take this series from Arizona.  A new streak begins today!
