04-5-2024 Recap:

For today and tomorrow I am going to be doing just the GOTD recaps as I haven’t had the opportunity to watch many other games.  So without further delay, what a game for the birds.  Grayson Rodriguez pitched a solid outing giving up two runs through 6.1 innings en route to a 5-2 Orioles win over the Pirates.  The O’s doubled up the Pirates in hits, twelve to six, and looked like the better team overall.  The bullpen shut down any chance of a Pirates resurgency.  Exciting game nonetheless as both teams combined to shell five home runs.  I am not convinced by this Pirates team just yet, they have the talent but will need O’Niell Cruz has had a phenomenal start to the year batting .344 with two home runs, special talent indeed.  As you all know, I also chose the Orioles yesterday for my GOTD pick which means that I have matched my career high in win streak with two! Time to keep it rolling to a new personal best.

4-6-2024 Game of the Day:

We have a special one for today’s GOTD, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Dodgers head to Wrigley Field to take on Jordan Wicks and the hot Chicago Cubs.  If yesterday’s 9-7 slugfest was any barometer for this one, we are in for quite the spectacle.  Both pitchers haven’t had the greatest starts to 2024 but I expect them to round into shape as the season progresses.  There isn’t much needed to say on this Dodgers team, stacked on the offensive side of the ball.  Mookie Betts is having a great start to 2024 and seems to have kicked off a MVP campaign.  Ohtani started out a bit slow but has found his swing these past two outings, and Freddie Freeman is about as steady as they come.  Teoscar Hernandez has proven his worth as well hitting .300.  The Dodgers are phenomenal, there is no doubting that, but this Cubs team has some serious power of their own.  I expect a lot of offense out of this one, with the Cubs stealing another one from the formidable Dodgers squad.  Sit back and relax, these teams are not shy when it comes to scoring.  Let’s go Cubs!

GOTD Record: 4-1

Once I return to my home I will have more comprehensive reviews, I don’t want to recap games that I don’t get the chance to see.  As always, I hope you all have a great day and get to enjoy some baseball!
